The safety and well-being of our customers and staff is our top priority.  In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have introduced an additional precautionary measure to reduce and minimise the spread of the virus.

 

Effective 1 June 2020, all customers travelling on Hong Kong Airways flights are required to wear a face covering or mask*:

 

·      ·      Throughout the check-in process

·      ·      At the departure gate

·      ·      During boarding and at all times when on board the aircraft, except for short periods when eating or drinking or requested to remove by our crew in an emergency situation

·      ·      Disembarkation from the aircraft at the end of the flight

·      ·      At baggage reclaim

 

*Requirements may be different at each airport. Customers are advised to check the requirements at their departing and arriving airports prior to travel.

 

Face coverings should fit snugly against the face and cover the nose and mouth without gaps. In accordance with World health Organization guidance, we recommend the use of surgical masks, although fabric face coverings are also acceptable. Customers wearing a mask fitted with an exhalation valve will not be accepted for travel.

 

While exemption is given to customers under the age of 2 years old, the use of appropriate protection for infants is highly recommended.

 

Customers who are unable to wear a face covering for an extended period of time due to medical reasons may still be accepted for travel but should declare this at check-in. Questions on medical and travel history will be asked and responses noted in the booking record. We strongly suggest the use of alternative protection as recommended by a doctor.

 

All customers will be asked to provide a current contact number if we do not have a record of this to facilitate contact tracing by the relevant health authority.

 

Our staff at check-in, departure gate and on board will regularly check that all customers are adhering to the face covering requirement.
