Procedures for Award Redemption

  1. Passengers can book their desired awards through the local Reservations Hotline of Hong Kong Airlines or Hong Kong Express Airways. The Reservations staff will instantly confirm the bookings and advise the passengers of the necessary ticket deadlines.
  2. Passengers are requested to print out and fill in the "Buy 5 Get 1 Free" Application Form and then complete the procedures at the local Ticketing Office of Hong Kong Airlines or Hong Kong Express Airways.
  3. Passengers must redeem the awards in person on/before the ticket deadline at the local Ticketing Office of Hong Kong Airlines or Hong Kong Express Airways. The passengers have to present his/her own identification document, the stubs of the required boarding passes, the tickets' copies and to pay for any necessary charges for processing the awards.
  4. If the passengers cannot collect his/her award items in person, he/she can authorize a third party to collect on his/her behalf in writing attached with a copy of his/her own identity card. The authorized party must also present his/her own identity card for verification at the Ticketing Office of Hong Kong Airlines or Hong Kong Express Airways.




*Terms and Conditions

  1. The travel award programme of Hong Kong Express Airways starts from 13 March 2008 whereas that of Hong Kong Airlines is from 8 May 2007 onwards. Travel must be made on or before 31 December 2008. Redemption for upgrade or free tickets must be made on or before 31 March 2009.
  2. Free travel awards refer to the redemption of free Business Class Upgrade or free air ticket(s) of Hong Kong Airlines or Hong Kong Express Airways.
  3. Valid boarding proofs (boarding pass and copy of the air ticket) of both Hong Kong Airlines and Hong Kong Express Airways are interchangeable for sector accrual.
  4. The flight sectors accrued cannot be used to redeem both travel awards simultaneously for the same flight. For instance, passengers cannot redeem the free travel and apply for upgrading to Business Class with the same accrued flight sectors.
  5. The validity period of any single flight sector is one year starting from the date of flight. For example, the flight sectors earned on 10 May 2007 will expire on 10 May 2008.
  6. Sector accrual does not apply to industry/agency discount, award travel, group and charter flight tickets. The booking classes listed below are entitled to sector accrual.

  7. There is no replacement for any lost tickets or boarding passes.
  8. Redemption of free travel and cabin class upgrade is subject to flight capacity control which may limit the number of seats available for that purpose.
  9. Blackout period applies to redemption of free travel and cabin class upgrade.

  10. Passengers are responsible for all applicable departure taxes, airport or government handling fees, fuel surcharges, security charges and any other administrative fees for the free air tickets.
  11. All travel redemption applications must be completed at least seven days prior to the scheduled departure dates.
  12. All tickets issued for free travel are valid for 3 months from the date of issue. Each ticket is valid for the flight/date shown only. A re-booking fee of HKD500 (or an equivalent of CNY500) will be charged per ticket and per transaction for re-issuing tickets. All tickets must be re-issued at the local Ticketing Office of Hong Kong Airlines or Hong Kong Express Airways.
  13. Once tickets for free travel are issued, they are non-transferable, non-reroutable and non-refundable.
  14. Passengers must hold a valid ticket for requesting an upgrade award. Any redeemed, group, industry/agency discount or other free tickets cannot be used in connection with an upgrade award ticket.
  15. All original boarding passes and ticket copies presented for award redemption must be under the same passenger name. However, passengers may transfer the travel award to their nominees. Passengers are required to print out and fill in the following "Buy 5 Get 1 Free" Application Form in advance and complete the procedures at the local Ticketing Office of Hong Kong Airlines or Hong Kong Express Airways.
