Hong Kong Express Airways To Launch Services To Chengdu in Mid-November

2006 Nov 2

Hong Kong, November 2 2006 … Hong Kong Express Airways has today announced that it will commence services between its home in Hong Kong and its newest destination the capital of Mainland China’s Sichuan province - Chengdu, in mid-November. The new destination will be the airline’s seventh since initiating its inaugural service just 14 months ago.

Said Hong Kong Express Airways Director, Customer Services Dr. James Yeung: “The opening of our Chengdu route serves well to reinforce the connection we have made between Hong Kong and the Mainland, as well as offering greater convenience and increased choice to travellers.”

Located in southwest China, Chengdu is an energetic city that combines modern urban living with traditional Chinese culture. The city’s well-developed infrastructure, transportation network and strong labour force have created an environment that is advantageous for business and industry. Chengdu is also famous for its historic and scenic attractions and as being the home of China’s giant pandas which attract travellers from all around the world.

Hong Kong Express Airways’ network spans business and leisure destinations throughout the Chinese mainland, Greater China and south East Asia. The airline is scheduled to take delivery of several Boeing 737 aircraft in early 2007 in line with network and route capacity expansion plans.
