Hong Kong, November 16th 2006 … With the departure this afternoon at 16.10 of one of its fleet of Embraer 170 aircraft from Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok airport, Hong Kong Express Airways will today inaugurate services on its newest route between Hong Kong and Chengdu.
"We are delighted to be once again launching services to another important business and leisure hub. Providing more options and alternatives to passengers has always been central to our objectives. Plus it is always a privilege to take an active role in promoting cultural and economic exchange with mainland China whilst boosting tourism between Hong Kong and interesting destinations." Hong Kong Express Airways Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Tse.
Chengdu - one of the most populous cities in China, is a well-developed commercial and transportation hub thanks to its location as a gateway for financial activities from the Southwest. Besides being the home of China's giant pandas, Chengdu is also a famous leisure spot and the primary inland access point to Tibet.
